Cable Beach is one of the great vacation beach destinations in the Caribbean. The beach is so fantastic not just for its beauty and cleanliness, but also the many things to do throughout the day. We have vacationed in a number of different resorts along Cable Beach over the years, and each trip has been truly unforgettable.
Cable Beach is located in Nassau, Bahamas, and is a quick 10 minute drive from the Airport. The flight in to the Bahamas is so beautiful, it will take your breath away. You can start to see the islands in the distance as your flight approaches the Bahamas. And as the plane starts its final descent to the airport, you see this stunning blue and green water that will get your heart racing. It is just so gorgeous and breathtaking.
After a short cab ride you will arrive at your resort on cable beach. We have stayed at a number of these resorts over the years, and the Wyndham and the Sheraton are two at the top of the list. We spend most days of our trips on the powder bank of Cable Beach. The beaches there are truly beautiful, and they keep them impeccably maintained. The sand does get very hot in the summertime, but it’s what I call the good hot! There are many activities on the beach, to include snorkeling and hot dog boat rides. We get bounced around the entire time and feel like you’re ready to fall off, but somehow you’re able to stay on the boat. It is quite exhilarating.
Some of the activities along the beach:
- Boat Rides
- Jet Ski Rentals
- Kids’ Activities
- Day trips to Island paradise
Another really great excursion on Cable Beach is a small island about a mile from the shoreline. We looked at this small island all week and wondered what it was. We were then told that it is a fun activity island, so we paid for a day trip to this small, secret paradise. We walked around the island for a good hour until we finally found our spot on this quiet, secluded beach. We had a picnic lunch on the beach and it was an unforgettable day.
The water along Cable Beach is among the most stunningly beautiful in the entire Caribbean. The water itself is so crystal blue, it is like an aquarium. You can see the bottom 10 to 15 feet below as clear as a bathtub. It is amazing! We went snorkeling off that beach every day, and each day was better than the last. There are also hammocks hanging from palm trees all along the beach, so if you want to curl up with your favorite book and relax, there is no better place for it then there.
You can spend all day on this beach, and it will never get old. However, if you do want to take a break and have some lunch or a cocktail, the resort pools and Tiki bars are a stone’s throw away.
So if you’re looking for a vacation that is relatively close to the United States, but yet a world away, Cable Beach in Nassau is highly recommended!
