ABOUT BROMLEY SUN MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE PARK
The Sun Mountain Adventure Park is located six miles east of Manchester Vermont, on VT Route 11. The Sun Mountain Adventure Park is open weekends from May 29 through June 13 and daily from June 18 on. The Sun Mountain Adventure Park features:
THE SUN MOUNTAIN FLYER - New England's newest and longest five-story high, half-mile long, 50 MPH ZipRider! With two new lines for 2010 the Sun Mountain Flyer doubles capacity to four seats, resulting in less waiting, more fun!
ALPINE SLIDE - The Grand Daddy of them all… North America's first triple-tracked Alpine Slide and still one of the longest slides in the world - a full 2/3 of a mile.
24 FOOT CLIMBING WALL - An uber-challenging 24' multi-faced "real-rock" wall with different faces for different challenges.
MINIATURE GOLF - Truly beautiful and scenic, it's the Augusta National of miniature golf courses... in our humble opinion, of course.
TRAMPOLINE THING - Four, count 'em, Four! That's right, we've added two more brand new Trampoline Things to the Summer 2009 lineup! Slip into the harness and take trampolining to new heights. Literally!
TWIN SPIN - Round and round you'll go until you yell "Stop!" It's the Twin Spin four-rider, self-propelled spinning sensation!
SPACE BIKES - Race against a friend as you actually pedal your way into orbit - Space Bikes are like a bicycle race turned on its head!
SUPER SLIDE - The little ones now have a Bromley slide all their own with the colorful, bouncy, 24' inflated Kiddie Slide!
ADRENALINE ZIP LINE - The Adrenaline Zip Line is basically 100' of "YEEEEEEE-HA!" on a super strong steel cable.
THE BIG SPLASH - At 456', the Splash is still Vermont's longest, and therefore coolest, water slide ride.
BUMPER BOATS - Bumper Boats are a nautically-nifty perennial favorite. Aye-aye!
BOUNCE HOUSE - The Bounce House is wonderfully bouncy with some serious "boinging" goin' on!
GIANT SWING - The Giant Swing looms as high as a four-story building, swings riders at speeds approaching 40mph and produces 3G's of gravitational force.
ABOUT BROMLEY MOUNTAIN VERMONT
Bromley Mountain has 45 classic New England trails and glades with a variety of terrain that is seldom seen elsewhere. It is perfect for skiers & riders of all ability levels from first timers to those who crave the gravity-adrenaline rush. Because Bromley is a south-facing mountain (the only one in New England), don't forget your sunblock and shades to be prepared for some of the sunniest, most comfortable skiing and riding you'll find anywhere in the East.
Family Activities:
Thanks to the swiftness of Bromley's high-speed quad (6 minutes from base to summit) skiers and snowboarders are getting up and down the mountain faster than ever before. So much so, in fact, that they're liable to find themselves with some extra, non-slope time on their hands. Fortunately for them, Bromley is literally surrounded by a host of alternative activities, including ice skating, sleigh riding, snowmobiling, shopping, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing!
If carving figure eights is your thing, then you'll want to check out the great ice at the Riley Rink at Hunter Park, in Manchester. A new, state-of-the-art facility, Riley Rink at Hunter Park is the home ice for several community hockey and skating leagues, and offers public skating hours at various times throughout the week. Call 802-362-0150 for hours and schedule of events.
Giddyup, giddyup, giddyup, let's go! Sleigh rides are available in several locales around the Bromley area. Located on Route 11, in Londonderry, there's the Taylor Farm (pictured at right), 802-824-5690, and in Landgrove, Karl Pfister offers rides 824-6320. A few miles up Route 30, in Rawsonville, Deb Hodis operates Horses for Hire, 802-297-1468, which she has owned and operated for over a decade.
Cross-country ski centers abound in the Bromley area. The closest is Wild Wings, 802-824-6793 right in Peru, and is run by longtime friends of the Bromley Outing Club, the Black family. Other touring centers include Hildene in Manchester, 802-362-1788 and Tater Hill in Windham, 802-875-2517, as well as Viking in Londonderry, 802-824-3933, which also offers snowshoeing.
If shopping is more up your alley, then the Manchester Designer Outlets are just perfect for you! You'll find plenty of discount shopping right out your door with factory stores from Polo, J. Crew, Armani, Versace and Burberry just to name a few!
Snowmobilers have a few options, Equinox Snow Tours is right down the road at the junction of Routes 11 & 30! On your guided snowmobile tour you will travel through the Green Mountain National Forest stopping to enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the Green Mountains. Led by trained guides while riding on state-of-the-art snowmobiles. Call them at (802)824-6628 or visit them on the web at www.vermontsnowmobile.com
Alpine Tours on Stratton Mountain, 802-297-1207 offers moonlight tours, family tours and more, and they can cater something just for your party of snowmobilers, just ask.
Up on the mountain or down in the valley, Bromley and its neighboring towns add up to one of the most complete winter-sports experiences in Vermont.
